A recent substantial endowment to the University of Glasgow has meant we have been able to create an annual Distinguished Visiting Professorship, that will allow a world-leading researcher in any area of the mathematical sciences and its applications (including Pure and Applied Mathematics, and Statistics), to visit Glasgow and more generally the UK, for a three-month period.
The aim of this position is to explore collaborations with colleagues at the University of Glasgow and the wider UK community, to conduct research and deliver a public lecture. The holder will be encouraged to provide informal mentoring to early-career researchers and to take part in seminars and masterclasses as appropriate. The Distinguished Visiting Professor will have an international reputation and a proven track record of world-class research.
A substantial honorarium will be provided to cover travel expenses, all living costs and general research expenses for the duration of this appointment.
