South African Theory and Computational School: Mathematical Structures
It is presented by Zurab Janelidze and other members of the Mathematical Structures Research Programme at NITheCS. To enroll, please send an email asap to both of the following addresses: zurab@sun.ac.za and satacs@nithecs.ac.za.
The course is aimed at postgraduate students and academics in theoretical and computational sciences. The course will introduce some of the basic “mathematical structures” (sets equipped with a structure a la Bourbaki) that play a fundamental role in mathematics as well as its applications in theoretical physics and computer science. A full-time postdoctoral research fellowship is available in the Research Focus Area for Pure and Applied Analytics at the North-West University. This fellowship is
specifically aimed at an applicant that is working in functional analysis, preferably with a specialization in ordered vector spaces and vector lattices. The closing date is 13 July 2022.

AfMS aims at a weekly seminar for the whole of Africa, alternating through the different countries while giving different regions their chance to host the seminar.
The main goal of AfMS is building mathematical networks across Africa and showcasing African mathematical talent. In practice, this means speakers will mostly hail from Africa, or have a strong relationship with African mathematics. But not necessarily always. The organizing team will include distinguished speakers every now and then for networking and research exchange with the rest of the world.
